At the University of Reading, you will explore the processes which underpin social order and social change, shaping individuals, groups, and institutions.

Real-world experience and careers
At Reading, you can complete an integrated professional placement between your second and third years. If you choose to study Sociology and Criminology, you can also apply for a variety of voluntary placements with Thames Valley Police, Death Penalty Clinic and Elizabeth Fry Charity.
Throughout your degree, you will build strong research, analytical and communication skills. You will develop subject-specific knowledge and prepare for a variety of careers such as social work, journalism, media, government, youth work, NGOs, and more.
