Your chance to make a difference

Have Your Say

We are committed to working in partnership with you to ensure you have everything you need to succeed during your time studying at Reading.  That is why we take student surveys seriously - it's a way for us to listen, understand and act on your views.

The Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey and Blackboard Feedback Survey are now open for your feedback.

Surveys available now

The Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) is now open!

We want to hear about your experience as a taught postgraduate student at UoR. Your feedback is incredibly important as it helps us identify what’s working well and where we need to improve for future students.

Have your say now! Complete the Postgraduate Taught Student Experience Survey, it won’t take any longer than 15 minutes.

The survey closes on 13 June.

Please note, if you access the survey via the JISC emails that will be sent from us, you won’t need to log in, but here is what you need to do if a username and password is requested.

How do I log in?
Username: Please enter your eight-digit Student ID number (as found on your campus card)
Password: ReadingPTES2025

What is PTES?

The Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) enables us to gather important information about the experience of any taught postgraduate student on a Masters, Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma course.

It helps us to better understand the following key areas:

Teaching and learning

Engagement

Assessment and feedback

Organisation and management

Skills development

What happens to the results?

We analyse the results in detail and use your feedback to inform the positive changes we make to our programmes, facilities and support services.

Is it confidential?

Your responses will be linked to data held by the University for statistical analysis and internal reporting; however, the results will not be used in a way that identifies you. Please do not identify yourself or others in your comments.

We want to hear from you about your experience using Blackboard this academic year.

As part of a major project to enhance your digital learning environment, the University introduced Blackboard ‘Ultra’, an updated version of Blackboard in September 2024 —a more modern, student-centred version of our virtual learning system. It plays a key role in everything from accessing module materials to submitting assessments and receiving feedback.

You’ve now had a full semester using Blackboard ‘Ultra’, and your feedback is essential. We're launching a short survey to understand how the platform is working for you—what’s great, what could be better, and how it supports your learning.

Why take part?

  • Help shape the future of Blackboard

  • Improve consistency and usability across your courses

  • Make sure your voice is part of University-wide improvements

  • You could win 1 of 10 Love2Shop vouchers worth £50! Terms and conditions apply.

This is your chance to make an impact! The survey is quick, important, and your feedback will help us enhance the learning experience for all students.

Complete the Blackboard Feedback Survey now

The survey closes at midnight on 19 May.

The National Student Survey (NSS) is now closed, thank you to everyone for taking part this year. The winners of the prize draw will be contacted via email within 2 weeks from the closing date (30 April).
