Your guide to helpful student apps:

Home at Halls IOS or Android  Available on both iOS and Android platforms, this app dedicated to improving your student experience and time in halls.

Through the app, you can:

view and register for events
register overnight visitors
collect your parcels and packages
report faults and maintenance issues
provide feedback
let your halls teams know you’re out of residence
access useful information such as your Halls A-Z Handbook, campus maps and the student resident agreement

The UNiDAYS student app IOS or Android  An app for students offers, features and more ways to live student life to the max.
Student Beans IOS or Android  Handpicked offers, exclusive app features, personalised content and much more.

Too Good To Go IOS or Android Too Good To Go is the app that lets you rescue unsold food from an untimely fate at your favourite spots.
The Co-op app IOS or Android

With the Co-op app you can:

Save with offers: access offers to use in Co-op Food stores every week.
Scan your card: earn or spend rewards and claim offers with your contactless digital card.

The NHS App provides a simple and secure way for you to access a range of NHS services:

order repeat prescriptions
book and manage appointments
view your GP health record to see information like your allergies and medicines
get your NHS COVID Pass
register your organ donation decision
view your NHS number
use NHS 111 online to answer questions and get instant advice or medical help near you

Student Health App IOS or Android When you’re at university, it’s not always obvious what you should do if you have any concerns about your health. The Student Health App contains over 900 pages of reliable health information, including mental health advice.

The Student Health App offers plain-talking reassurance, info and advice on 125+ topics, including:
Mental health: How to tackle stress, depression and anxiety and how to manage self-harm and suicidal thoughts
First Aid & emergencies: Find out what to do next – from unconsciousness to asthma attacks, burns and head injury
Alcohol & drugs: Know the score on smoking, alcohol and common drugs – and how to manage a drug overdose
Love & relationships: Discover what’s to know about healthy relationships, abuse, contraception and sexually transmitted infections

Squirrel IOS or Android  Separate the money you have for bills, savings and spending to see exactly what you've got left each month. Squirrel can even look after your money and deliver it to you in weekly or monthly instalments.
Wally IOS Keep track of your outgoings with this virtual spending diary. Save images of receipts and attach your location so you remember exactly what, when and where you’ve spent.
Splitwise
IOS or Android Splitwise takes all the hassle out of asking for money. Just create a group or an event and everybody can see exactly what they owe and who they need to pay.

Callmy Alert IOS or Android  Stay up to date on important safety and security issues around campus with the Callmy Alert app. After installation there is a simple verification process to follow and you’ll need to add the group name UoRalert
BikeRegister Android The app allows you to set up a BikeRegister account, register the details of your bike and upload images. There are over 900,000 bikes registered on the secure database.

The features of the BikeRegister app include: checking a cycle serial or frame number to see if a bike is stolen; registering bikes on the database; and viewing videos on how to mark and register cycles.
MyWay IOS or Android The MyWay App is a fantastic safety app to make sure you feel safe walking to and from lectures, back from Student Union nights, and to sports training sessions throughout your time at Reading.

The app has some super handy features including:

Automatic SMS text to an emergency contact to let them know you’re home safe.
Sharing location with friends and loved ones who can track your journey with your approval.
Motion sensors around campus, the student area and Reading Town Centre to let you know how many others are on roads to keep you informed.

SportsPark IOS or Android

The official app for the University of Reading's SportsPark. Get up-to-date University of Reading SportsPark information, news, real-time access to our VO2 group exercise class timetable and bookings, including times, instructors, rooms and class description, offers, events and receive push notifications for important news right to your phone.

With the app, you’ll immediately know when there are new events or classes, VO2 fitness studio updates ensuring that you’ll never miss out.


Blackboard Learn

IOS or Android  Blackboard's Virtual Learning Environment. An app that helps you stay up to date with everything in your course.
Students can:
• View updates to your courses and content
• Get notifications on course events and changes
• Take assignments and tests
• View marks for courses, assignments and tests
Canvas Student IOS or Android Canvas's Virtual Learning Environment on the go. From any device, students can:

• View grades and course content
• Submit assignments
• Keep track of course work with to do list and calendar
• Send and receive messages

Evernote 

IOS or Android
Evernote gives you everything you need to keep life organized - great note taking, project planning, and easy ways to find what you need, when you need it.
Uni Mate IOS or Android
Track all your modules and grades, calculate your year and module weighted average and predict your future degree classification. You simply input your grades into the app to make grade calculating a straightforward process.
Pomodoro Timer
IOS or Android
The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method based on 25-minute stretches of focused work broken by five-minute breaks. These apps will help you focus in order to get tasks done.
Forest IOS or Android
Forest is an app designed to help you stay focused on your work, not your phone. It’s helpful for doing coursework or revising for exams without getting distracted. With Forest, you plant digital trees by setting a timer, if you leave the app before the timer expires, the tree will die.

Doing #UoRBit IOS or Android Doing #UoRBit is an online platform available to all students at the University of Reading where you can take part in activities to boost sustainability and wellbeing. Whether it's going veggie or recycling more - take part to earn Green Points, win prizes and get rewarded for your positive actions!

Reading Buses IOS or Android  From planning your journey, to checking times and tracking your bus all the way through to paying using your phone, the Reading Buses app gives you everything you need for bus travel in and around Reading.
Trainline IOS or Android From live times and disruptions info to split tickets and price alerts for the cheapest tickets, the Trainline app gives you control of your journey. It makes train and coach travel across the UK and the rest of Europe easy.
GWR IOS or Android
The Great Western Railway app is a faster way to book tickets, check live train times and manage your journey.
Citymapper IOS or Android
Instantly compare your travel options in real-time across all transport modes globally! Easily navigate your city with turn-by-turn directions for all your public transport, walking, cycling and scooter trips. Covers cities like London only 30mins on the train from Reading.
What three words IOS or Android
With the what3words app, it’s easy to find, share and save precise locations.

Wisdom: Learn, Grow, Thrive app  IOS or Android

 All University of Reading students have free access to the 24hr Student Support Helpline to access free confidential advice, 24hrs a day, 365 days a year. You can also live chat on the Wisdom: Learn, Grow, Thrive app. On the app you will also find wellbeing resources on a range of different topics.

Stay Alive app IOS or Android  Stay Alive is a pocket suicide prevention resource. You can use it if you are having thoughts of suicide or if you are concerned about someone else who may be considering suicide.

You are only a few taps away from crisis support if you need it. Please take some time to browse its features and find the parts that work best for you. The app is totally free to use and confidential.
Self-help App for the Mind (SAM)
IOS or Android  SAM is a non-profit, community-backed wellbeing app to help you monitor and manage your mental health, with self-help techniques to help with anxiety, depression, loneliness and coping. SAM is informed by clinical best practice and academic research.
CBT thought diary IOS or Android 
Based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), this diary app helps you to capture, challenge and rebalance unhelpful thoughts.
Worry time IOS or Android 
It is normal to worry from time to time, however sometimes worry can become a problem in itself. This app provides you with the tools to interrupt the cycle of worry and to reduce feelings of stress or anxiety.

Microsoft Outlook IOS or Android
Keep on top of your University emails and Outlook calendar by downloading the Microsoft Office app. There is also a quick link to your Outlook emails and you can view your timetable on the UoR Student app
